Sssshhhh…..listen..you will hear the sound of wind

……………………….as it rushes by,

Sssshhhh…..listen..you will hear the sound of an eagle

……………………….flying way up high,

Sssshhhh…..listen..you will hear the sound of an elder

……………………….as he speaks to his people with a sigh,

Sssshhhh…..listen..my good people…do not mourn for me

……………………….I have lived a good life,

Sssshhhh……listen..you will hear the sound of teardrops

……………………….falling from my eyes,

Sssshhhh…..listen..you will hear the sound of my heartbreak

……………………….as it cries,

Sssshhhh…..listen..you will hear the sound of death

……………………….as my body lies,

Sssshhhh…..listen..you will hear the sound of drums

……………………….beating in the night,

Sssshhhh……listen..you will hear the sound of flutes

……………………….making merry and bright,

Sssshhhh……listen..you will hear the sound of footsteps

……………………….dancing and taking flight,

Ssshhhh……listen..you will hear the sound of Native Song

……………………….sending a loved one off right.
